Education

All ages are invited to participate in lifelong learning as we grow as shepherds of the cross.  Intergenerational events are scheduled throughout the year, along with these regularly scheduled opportunities:

 

For Children

Sunday School: Sunday’s during the school year at 10:15 a.m.

Vacation Bible School: Typically held in July or August for children age 3 and up

 

For Youth

Confirmation: Wednesday’s during the school year at 6:15 p.m.

MY (Muscatine Youth) Group: Sunday’s during the school year at 5:00 p.m.

 

For Adults

Adult Education: Sunday’s at 10:30 a.m.

This group studies various subjects, as led by Pastor Aleese. Recent topics have included:

  • What Does It Mean to Be a Christian in a Pluralistic World?
  • Conversation with Representatives of the Muslim Community of the Quad Cities
  • Advent Series: Hungering for the Gifts of Christ – a Bible Study focusing on Isaiah
  • An Overview of the Gospel of Matthew
  • Luther and the Reformation  

Women’s Group: Second Saturday of every month at 8:30 a.m.

This lay-led group selects a book of the Bible and gathers for study and breakfast.

 

Bible at the Brew: First Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. (meet at Missippi Brew)

This lay-led group studies the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel text using the resource “Daily Discipleship Matters.”

 

Christians Underground: Second Wednesday of the month at 12 p.m. (meet at Port City Underground)

This group  studies a Bible passage once a month, as led by Pastor Aleese.
