Luke 10:1-11, 16-20 | As we celebrate the 4th of July holiday, it’s likely that we remember, and honor, those who offered us such independence. Such independence is a gift, one that many long for. And yet, as we hear Jesus appoint 70 people to go out in mission – to gather the harvest of the kingdom – it’s clear that Jesus is calling his disciples to live reliant on each other, on those around them, and on God’s power. In the midst of your holiday celebrations, join us for worship as we hear God’s call on our lives to live reliant on one another and on Christ, and in that space, to receive God’s reign of healing and peace.
