Mark 10:17-31 | Do you have that closet, or basement, or corner of the house where everything that you don’t know what to do with gets stashed? Even for the most organized people, it’s all too easy to accumulate “stuff.” At our best, we may acknowledge that our “stuff” – and even our money or wealth – doesn’t define us. But still, it’s all too tempting to hang onto things (even, our very selves) out of a desire to remain “in control.” So then, what do we make of Jesus’ interaction with a rich man who’s seeking eternal life? Join us for worship this weekend as we acknowledge what we’ve accumulated and as we hear Jesus’ call to unburden ourselves so that we can be lifted up to live and serve in God’s Kingdom.
